Where it all began
As a child, I was captivated when a traditional signwriter came to our home to paint my father’s van. I watched him work with care and precision. His brush moved smoothly, forming letters, adding shadows, and painting fine details.
Eventually, he stepped back and admired his work. It looked incredible, and my dad was thrilled. I can’t recall how long I sat there, but I knew this was the kind of work I wanted to do. It was creative, hands-on, and truly satisfying.
The turning point
Years later, I became a manager at a hydraulic engineering company. The job paid well, came with perks, and included a company car. However, something felt missing. One morning, while I waited for a meeting, that childhood memory returned - I realised I had lost the creative spark.
So, I made a bold decision. I left the role to do something more fulfilling. I bought equipment and trained in design, printing, and installation. That’s how Impact Sign Solutions began.
The early challenges
One of my first projects involved vehicle wrapping. At the time, vinyl was stiff and tough to apply. In fact, I reapplied the film many times to make it fit the van’s curves. The process tested both my patience and skill. Eventually, I got it right. When the customer arrived, he took one look and said, “Wow!”
Chasing the ‘wow’
That “wow” moment shaped our purpose. Ever since, we’ve worked to create that same feeling in every project.
To support that goal, I reinvested in better tools and built a stronger team. I also focused on continuous training. So, we stay sharp, skilled, and ready to impress.
